The Romanian National Office for Gambling (ONJN) has added approximately 800 unauthorized platforms to its official blacklist. This enforcement action represents a large-scale regulatory campaign against non-compliant digital betting services.
Under the current administration that assumed office in April 2025, the agency has restricted access to roughly 1,180 websites, including the prediction market platform Polymarket. The regulator recently expanded its authority to directly remove unauthorized content and is implementing additional monitoring systems for market oversight.
ONJN investigators identified irregular financial transactions and potential discrepancies in GGR reporting, with findings forwarded to relevant government authorities.

ONJN director Vlad-Cristian Soare stated that unlicensed operators account for more than 70 percent of the online gambling sector across Europe. The agency continues to coordinate with national authorities to standardize compliance requirements for digital betting providers.Since the agency began operations in 2013, it has blocked approximately 1,500 non-compliant gambling sites across multiple enforcement cycles.
